Columbia County Public Health Nurses can help pregnant women:
- Find a prenatal care provider
- Learn about community resources for families
- Learn about their pregnancies
* When should I go to the doctor?
* What are the normal changes that come with pregnancy?
* What changes can I make to have a healthy baby?
* What will labor and delivery be like?
* Should I breastfeed my baby?
- Increase their chances of having a healthy baby by providing support services (Prenatal Care Coordination) to help them. Services may include health education and counseling and referral to other agencies for needed help.
- Find payment for health care for themselves and their children, Healthy Start, Medical Assistance, or BadgerCare.

Nutrition education, health assessment and provision of food instruments for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding and for children under 5 years of age.

Postpartum/Newborn Health
A public health nurse is available to answer questions following the birth of a baby. The nurse can answer questions regarding breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, bowel habits, sleep, behavior, bathing, immunizations, growth and development, or any concerns regarding your family's health or parenting in general.
