Transportation Services

Rides can be provided for people over age 60 or disabled who have no other access to affordable transportation.

Cost:  $0.25 per mile for all out-of-town trips. In-town trips with a volunteer or on agency van are $1.50 per trip. Carpool trips to Lunch Bunch are $0.50 per day. All trips are by appointment and subject to availability of vehicle and/or volunteer.

Rides: Rides for medical, Lunch Bunch, and important personal business, are available in agency vehicles or with volunteers willing to drive them.

Medical Assistance Transportation

Medical Assistance Transportation is available for clients covered by Medical Assistance, including Medicaid, Badger Care, Healthy Start; and/or other AFDC or SSI related Medical Assistance. Reimbursement is based on the least expensive means of transportation to the nearest Medical Assistance approved provider. Trips must be pre-authorized prior to departure. Transportation requests can be made by phone, in person, or in writing to Columbia County Department of Health & Human Services, Economic Support Division or Division of Aging and Long Term Care Support.
