Genealogy Research
The Columbia County Register of Deeds and Land Information Departments maintain a tremendous amount of important historical documents pertaining to the county. Historical documents maintained in the office and accessible to the general public are listed below:

  • Birth Records

  • Marriage Records


Because the Register of Deeds Office is bound by State Statute to protect the physical condition, and also the legal status of the records in its possession, certain regulations must be observed. Additionally, individuals must sign and date an Application For Record Search form agreeing to abide by these regulations. Our rules and regulations for searching have changed.  Please review the office regulations below.
