GeoLynx® Emergency Notification System

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is building a database of citizen contact information for use in emergency and critical situations. By entering your unlimited contact details (cell phones, home phones, e-mails) you will be added to a countywide database accessed exclusively for critical community alerts and emergency situations.

  • Public numbers are automatically populated in the system, however no one should automatically assume his or her phone number is included.
  • All businesses and individuals, individuals who have unlisted phone numbers or who have changed their phone number or address within the past year and those who use a cellular phone or VoIP phone as their primary number should register.
  • The Outbound Notification System allows geographically based delivery, which means street addresses are required to ensure emergency notification calls are received by the proper individuals in a given situation. The system works for cell phones and email too, but we need to have an associated street address to provide relevant messages.
  • The Outbound Notification System gives those who want to be included an easy and secure method for inputting information. The data collected will only be used for critical community alerts and emergency notification purposes.
  • Rest assured, the information provided remains private and will only be used to contact you for emergency situations or critical community alerts.
