Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is recruiting to establish an eligibility list for vacancies occurring within the next year. Qualifications: Prefer Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Science/Law Enforcement OR High School Diploma or equivalent; prefer training or 1 year related work experience preferably in operating two-way radio equipment, computer terminals or multiple line call-director telephone systems and certification in Radio Communications but not required. Knowledge of the Federal Communications Commission covering operations of all communications equipment such as radio/telephone equipment. Selection process includes written exam, oral interview, background investigation, medical and psychological evaluation, drug/alcohol screening, county residency is not required. Hire rate $20.280 per hour. Obtain required WI Law Enforcement Standard Board application DJ-LE330 (complete the 3 questions in Section 6) from www.co.columbia.wi.us or wilenet.org Application deadline July 17, 2013 required Civil Service Exam administered on August 10, 2013. These part time positions will work varied hours, weekends and holidays with no guaranteed hours. There are 3 levels based on position requirements.
