Ferry Operator
Columbia County Highway & Transportation is recruiting for Ferry Operator to operate the Ferry (Col-Sac II) across the Wisconsin River from the Village of Merrimac (Sauk County side) to the Columbia County side during the season of operation. Full time position 40 hours per week. The Ferry Operators work twelve (12) hours per day, three (3) days on and three (3) days off throughout the ferry season. This position will be assigned the PM shift working 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM. After the ferry season, this employee is assigned to other duties as needed and paid the Ferry Operator classification. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent + 2 years’ experience/training in some type of construction field. Must have valid WI Driver's License, and a Class A, B C, D Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an N endorsement( (Tanker) OR must obtain within six (6) months of hire date. $20.277 per hour. Jail Nurse and Health Care Service Administrator
Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is recruiting for a Nurse to manage and supervise the Columbia County Jail Health Care Services. Duties and responsibilities include development of a comprehensive care plan with contracted medical professionals in assessing physical/mental/psychological status of inmates. Must be able to work flexible hours. Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) preferred but requires a minimum of a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid in the State of Wisconsin, an associate or applied science degree or its equivalent required, 2 years of nursing experience and Certification as Certified Correctional Health Care Professional preferred but not required. Experience in corrections highly recommended. Hire rate $20.277 per hour. Columbia County Solid Waste is seeking individuals for Laborer positions. This is a limited term employment currently 40 hours per week. Responsible for sorting and salvaging materials related to various duties in the recycling area. Required to meet the physical requirements related to refuse and recycling material.
