Columbia County has adopted a Fair Housing Ordinance that entitles everyone to an equal opportunity for housing regardless of the following: 

  • Age
  • Race
  • Sex
  • National Origin
  • Religion
  • Color
  • Ancestry
  • Disability
  • Status as an Abuse Victim
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Martial Status
  • Family Status
  • Lawful Source of Income

If you believe you have been treated unfairly while looking for housing in Columbia County or are being discriminated against by your current landlord, please contact Lois Schepp at 608.742.9646.  You will be offered assistance in filing a complaint with the State of Wisconsin, Department of Workforce Development for enforcement of fair housing laws.  All complaints will be handled in a confidential manner.
