Stepping On-Falls Prevention Program

What is Stepping On?

Stepping On is a program that has been researched and proven to reduce falls in older people. 

It consists of a workshop that meets for two hours a week for seven weeks.  Workshops are led by a health professional and a peer leader – someone who, just like you, is concerned about falls.  In addition, local guest experts provide information on exercise, vision, safety, and medications. Healthy Living with Diabetes- Self Management Workshop

A high-level evidence-based program!

Healthy Living with Diabetes (HLWD) is an evidence-based workshop for people who have diabetes.  Developed at Stanford University, the Healthy Living with Diabetese workshop meets for 2-1/2 hours a week for six weeks. Classes are highly participative, where mutual support and success build participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health condition and maintain active and fulfilling lives.  It is facilitated by two trained leaders in a classroom style, but most of the learning comes from sharing and helping others with similar challenges.

Living Well with Chronic Conditions- Self Management Workshop

If you have conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic pain or anxiety, the Living Well Program can help you take charge of your life.  You will get support, find practical ways to deal with pain and fatigue, discover better nutrition and exercise choices, understand new treatment choices, and learn better ways to talk to your doctor and family about your health.

What if I have already had shingles? You can still benefit from the vaccine. 

Will my insurace pay for the shot? The shot is covered under SOME Medicare Part D plans or other private insurance.  It can cost over $200.
