Voter Photo ID Information

Update: The U.S. Supreme Court has affirmed the photo ID provisions of the 2011 Wisconsin Act 23.  A photo ID is now required to receive a ballot in all special and regular elections.. Visit the Bring It to the Ballot website to learn more about photo ID and voting.

Wisconsin law requires voters to show an acceptable photo ID to vote.  An acceptable photo ID will be required before receiving a ballot.

The Wisconsin Division of Motor Vehicles has a new policy starting September 15, 2014 to help people who need a free state ID card for voting.
