The Division of Children and Families' (DCF) purpose is to ensure the safety of children, youth, and the community, while strengthening families by providing resources and support. DCF responds to reported cases of child abuse and neglect to assess for safety. Law Enforcement referrals for youth offenders are also reviewed by DCF and case management services are offered through the Youth Justice program. Restitution and Community Service opportunities are also offered through this program. DCF licenses foster parents and coordinates out of home placements as well as offers Kinship Care Funding to relative caregivers.
