COLUMBIA COUNTY ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY

Columbia County Highway & Transportation and volunteer groups recognize the need and the desirability of litter-free highways.  Volunteer groups may apply for a section of road that they would like to keep clean.

Terms & Conditions

  • The group shall select a section at least 1 mile in length.
  • The group will pick up litter three times a year between April 1st and November 1st for a three year period.
  • The group can either drop off the filled trash bags at any Columbia County Highway Shop or place the bags at the designated pickup site and contact the Highway Department.
  • The Highway Department will supply the group with safety vests, trash bags, traffic safety signs, and marker flags.

Highway will review the application.  If the application is approved, the group will be contacted.
