Social Worker

Columbia County Department of Health & Human Services embraces strengths-based and trauma informed practices.  The Department is recruiting for an Initial Assessment Child Protective Services Social Worker in the Division of Children and Families.  The Social Worker will partner with families that are referred for child protective services and will identify strengths and needs to implement services necessary to ensure safety within the family home.  The ideal applicant will be able to establish engagement with families to create a trusting relationship that will promote growth and connections with the family unit.  Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited Social Work Degree Program.  Must be certified or certifiable as a Social Worker. GIS Technician - Real Property Lister

Columbia County has an immediate opening for a GIS Technician - Real Property Lister.  Under the general supervision of the Director for the Land Information Department, the primary duties performed by this position are:  Compile, analyze, and process the land information documents necessary to maintain assessment records for the County. Assist with the development and maintenance of an enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS), especially pertaining to land records and related datasets using GIS software and technology.  Produces maps and provides assistance to a diverse set of departments within the County, local officials, property professionals and the general public with inquiries pertaining to land records. Interprets orthophotography, subdivision plats, land records, reviews and performs COGO (Coordinate Geometry) calculations; analyzes survey data, source maps, and other records. Principal point of contact and liaison for the county regarding training and assisting municipal assessors and local government officials with the electronic exchange and verification of assessments, special assessments, and reports for the property assessment process. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public administration, geography or real estate economics with 3-5 years’ experience in assessing, GIS, County or State government OR any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. Knowledge of departmental operations, pertinent laws, 70.09 of Wis. Statues, codes, regulations, terminology and Department of Revenue Guidelines are desirable. Knowledge of GIS and survey related concepts and techniques including a thorough understanding of the Public Land Survey System (PLSS). Behavioral Health Program Coordinator
Columbia County is recruiting for a full time management position in its Behavioral Health and Long Term Support Division to oversee emergency mental health and substance use services.  The primary tasks of this position are to ensure that Columbia County behavioral health programs utilize a wraparound approach to providing individualized services that focus on client/family strengths, community placement, cultural competency, natural supports, teaming, and collaboration.  Knowledge of Chapter 46.56, 51, and 55 of the Wisconsin State Statutes. Knowledge of DHS 34, 36, 75, 92 and 94 of the Wisconsin Administrative Codes. Knowledge of Medicaid and third party payor policies and procedures.  Minimum Qualifications: Current licensure under Wis. Stat. §457 as a Clinical Social Worker, Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, adult psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner, family psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner, or clinical specialist in adult psychiatric and mental health nursing with 3000 hours of supervised clinical, post-masters experience. Specific experience in service provision in mental health or substance abuse treatment and supervisory experience preferred. 911 Dispatcher/Communication Operator

Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is recruiting to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies.   Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; prefer Degree in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement or related field and/or 1 year related work experience preferably in operating two-way radio equipment, computer terminals or multiple line call-director telephone systems. Selection process includes oral interviews, background investigation, medical and psychological evaluation, drug/alcohol screening, county residency is not required.  Hire rate $20.480 per hour.
