10th Annual Walk for Hope

Our 10th annual Walk for Hope will be held on Saturday, September 26th at 9am at the Portage High School Track. Our family-friendly event features laps around the track, speakers, music, art projects, educational booths, and free Suicide Prevention Training.  We have all been affected by suicide in our communities. Let’s join together in remembering our loved ones and extending hope to those who are still suffering.

All proceeds support Prevent Suicide Columbia County’s local prevention activities, which include:

  • QPR Suicide Prevention Training which teaches the warning signs of suicide and three simple steps anyone can take to save a life: Question, Persuade, Refer
  • Support groups for survivors of suicide loss
  • Scholarships for local high school students
  • Educational programs within schools to support youth mental health
  • Supporting other community sectors, such as law enforcement, and providers of health and mental health services
