Termination of Parental Rights

Termination of Parental Rights

TERMINATION OF PARENTAL RIGHTS means to permanently stop or end all rights, powers, privileges, immunities, duties and obligations (including child support) existing between parent and child. Parental rights may be terminated either voluntarily or involuntarily. If you are pursuing an Involuntary TPR on your own, you will need to prove that one or more of the grounds established by section 48.415 Wis. Stats. exist. In addition to filing the TPR, there will need to be a stepparent willing to adopt the child and take on all of the obligations for the child. Parties and child must reside in Columbia County.
