Hardwood: Quaking Aspen (populous tremuloides):  Growth-Fast growing tree;  Height 40-50’ high with 25’ oval shaped spread – Soil type-Grows well in acidic, clay, loamy, moist, sandy and well-drained soils but tolerant to many soil conditions.  Sun-Does well in full sun.  Other-Striking, iconic white bark, and golden-yellow foliage in fall, brightening landscapes.  Blooms in Spring.  Fallen leaves are used by deer in fall and early winter.  Grouse depend on the buds for winter food, also a host to myriad birds and butterflies.   Has restored many forests after fires as it is one of the first trees to spring up after fire damage.
