Adult Protective Services

The Adult Protective Service system is defined in Wisconsin statutes, Chapter 55

§Adults at Risk: Ages 18-59 who have a physical or mental condition  that substantially impairs his or her ability to care for his or her needs and who has experienced or is currently experiencing, or is at risk of experiencing abuse, neglect, self-neglect or financial exploitation.

 §Elders at Risk:  Ages 60 plus who have a physical or mental condition  that substantially impairs his or her ability to care for his or her needs and who has experienced or is currently experiencing, or is at risk of experiencing abuse, neglect, self-neglect or financial exploitation. 

To report an adult-at-risk, please contact the Columbia County Aging & Disability Resource Center between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at (608) 742-9233 or (888) 742-9233. To report an adult-at-risk after hours, please contact the Columbia County Sheriff's Department at (608) 742-4166.  In an emergency, please dial 911 for immediate assistance.
