Basic Principles: "Someone other than the criminal has knowledge of the crime."
Citizens need an easy and possibly rewarding way to participate in “community policing.” When people get involved, more crimes get solved.
The Columbia County Crime Stoppers (CCCS) is a non-profit volunteer organization – one of 51 similar programs operating in Wisconsin. It is affiliated with Crime Stoppers International and utilizes the most current and confidential tip submission systems.
Tips can be submitted by:
||Use a smart phone to scan the QR code on any of our crimestopper signs located throughout Columbia County.
All tips remain anonymous and often result in cash awards. Tips are passed along to local police and sheriff departments for action. If the tip results in an arrest, the Crime Stopper board of directors will calculate the value of the tip and arrange confidential cash payment of $25 to $1,000. It is a very simple way for the public to get “involved” with solving crimes in their own community.
The CCCS increases public safety throughout Columbia County by providing an easy and confidential means to report crime to law enforcement authorities. This program depends on private cash donations and support services, fundraising events, and financial support from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.
