Hardwood: Sugar Maple (acer saccharum):   Growth-Slow to medium; Height 60-75’ -Soil Type-Best on moist, well-drained soils -Drought intolerant and wet soil intolerant. -Sun-Does well in full sun or partial shade. -Other-A WI native used as an ornamental and shade tree. Lumber is hard, strong, and close grained, choice lumber or firewood.  The sap can be boiled down for maple syrup.  Avoid early spring pruning, can lose large amount of sap.
