Citizens will be notified only when the name they have submitted to Property Fraud Alert is found on a document recorded in the Register of Deeds Office.
Protecting consumer’s information and real estate property is a priority for the Register of Deeds. According to the FBI, property and mortgage fraud is the fastest growing white-collar crime. While Property Fraud Alert will not prevent fraud from happening, it will provide an early warning system that will allow our citizens to take appropriate actions should they deem possible fraudulent activity has occurred with their property.
